I illustrated the major arcana cards of a fantasy romance themed tarot deck called "Fated Hearts." I kept the original Rider-Waite deck in mind as I decided on the compositions while updating certain elements to fit the fantasy romance aesthetic.
While some cards take a more general approach, such as card XII, The Hanged Man as a fae prisoner, others draw on specific stories core to the genre such as Hades and Persephone seen in card VI, The Lovers.
My Role: Create the 22 major arcana cards, a card back, and box that correlate with a fantasy romance theme.
